Sisimiut 2024

THE CONFERENCE

THE CONFERENCE

For the first time, Greenland Business (Grønlands Erhverv) is hosting a youth business conference in Sisimiut. The conference brings young people in Greenland close to decision-makers and influencers. After all, isn’t it best to let those who will live in Greenland’s future help set the direction? The conference gives participants the experience of attending a “real” business conference, and it concludes with the conference’s key messages being delivered to politicians.

The conference topics include sustainability and the role of civil society in Greenland’s development. Questions addressed include: How do you become an entrepreneur? What is democracy and civil society? Are there exciting jobs for young Greenlanders in Greenland’s new industries? And how will we actually power the future? The conference also provides opportunities to meet inspiring politicians and employers, engage in debates, and experience the atmosphere of a conference tackling major societal issues.

Draft Program Includes:

  1. Welcome to the conference – You are civil society
  2. Sustainable businesses in Greenland
  3. What do the new runways mean for you?
  4. Political debate – Youth and politics
  5. The sustainable construction site of the future
  6. Who lives in the mine and on the base?
  7. Entrepreneurship – Is the path equal for all?
  8. [Participation in competition]
  9. Men, women, and others in the workplace
  10. Future energy – Power-to-what?
  11. Thank you for today – The future of Greenland
  12. Closing reception

Future of Greenland opens doors to the world and invites Greenlandic youth to meet and challenge stakeholders and influencers from both home and abroad. Greenland Business believes that it is the youth of Greenland who are best placed to decide what the country’s future should look like: The Future of Greenland!

SPONSORSHIPS

The world is calling for sustainable solutions, and Greenland is well-positioned to deliver many of them. But what is Greenland’s potential, and what does our future look like? Who should discuss Greenland’s future?

Greenland Business believes that Greenlandic youth should help set the country’s development agenda. In May 2024, we hosted Greenland’s first youth business conference, Future of Greenland, in Nuuk.

We are now repeating the success with Future of Greenland in Sisimiut on November 7, 2024.

The conference is free for youth participants, made possible through sponsorships from Greenlandic businesses. Your company can be a sponsor when we open the doors for Greenlandic youth (10th grade, GUX, KTI, DTU Arctic, etc.) in Sisimiut:
