Future Greenland 2024

Future Greenland – Greenland’s Largest Business Conference
May 14–15, 2024, Katuaq, Nuuk
The Potential for a Sustainable Greenland – Why, How, and What?
The world is calling for sustainable solutions, and Greenland may be well-positioned to deliver on many of these. But what is Greenland’s potential, why should we consider sustainability as a way of life and business, and how do we combine global trends with local traditions and business needs to realize Greenland’s potential?
Future Greenland 2024 once again opens its doors to the world, inviting stakeholders and opinion leaders from Greenland and abroad to discuss the future of life and business in Greenland, as well as the many aspects of the sustainability agenda on which Greenland can build.
Purpose
Greenland Business (Grønlands Erhverv) aims for the conference to strengthen public debate about the development of our country, grounded in the shared understanding that we cannot create the necessary economic growth without a healthy business sector, more private companies, and increased exports. Such a debate requires broad involvement from many organizations and actors in society.
A growth agenda requires political reforms that create an attractive business climate. Without this, we cannot meet citizens’ growing demands for welfare services, and political freedom of action is restricted. Greenland Business works to give business policy a stronger position in political debates, where welfare policy and the public’s desire for improved services often overshadow discussions about where the funds should come from.
Without the right political framework and a clear vision for business development, we cannot foster investment enthusiasm and entrepreneurship. Solid partnerships and cooperation between Greenlandic and foreign companies are essential to access capacities and competencies that cannot be sourced locally. A global perspective is also a key goal of the conference; therefore, Greenland Business in 2024 will invite actors who can recognize the mutual benefits of closer cooperation with Greenland—both politically and commercially.
