The Role of the Business Community in the "Rigsfællesskabet" 2.0

“Nothing about us—without us” and “Greenland is open for business” have become well-known terms within the Realm of Denmark (Rigsfællesskabet).

For decades, Greenland has worked to ensure that Greenland itself is the driving force in business and industry, rather than merely a spectator to economic development. Successive Greenlandic and Danish governments have been committed to realizing this goal. At the same time, there are calls for renewal of "Rigsfællesskabet", a need that is reinforced by the current geopolitical situation.

This panel explores the opportunities for strengthening Greenlandic business development within a construction that is itself evolving. The business community must now ensure that "Rigsfællesskabet" 2.0 delivers sound frameworks for companies, investments, and the pursuit of beneficial synergies. Who should take the lead—and how do we create the right momentum?

Meet strong panel participants from business, politics, and the civil service in a robust dialogue facilitated by Martin Breum, who for decades has worked extensively with the Arctic, "Rigsfællesskabet, and not least Greenland, which he knows in depth—both from the inside and the outside.

Regenerative Tourism in the Arctic – From Growth to Regenerative Value Creation in Greenland

Tourism can serve as a practical testing ground for circular solutions that strengthen local value creation and resilience in Arctic conditions by retaining more ownership and consumption in local cycles, introducing circular business models and service solutions, building repair/maintenance capacity, using shared resources, establishing take-back/return logistics, and strengthening procurement requirements. In this session, we will gather Greenlandic cases with Nordic-Arctic experience to identify the most realistic “major” measures and identify concrete pilot opportunities.
